1. Can I self-check-in?

For selected flights, passengers can self-check-in via the online check-in service available on the airline’s website. Royal Jordanian’s self-check-in kiosks are located at the check-in area. 


2. Are face masks and gloves available at the airport or do I need to purchase them before entering the premises?  

Masks and gloves can be purchased from the pharmacies at the airport or the WHSmith-Aramex counter at the Departures Bridge, Entrance 5. Kindly note that you may not enter the airport without wearing face masks and gloves. 


3. What testing procedures will arriving and departing passengers undergo during this period? Am I required to present a disease-free certificate before travelling, and will my temperature be measured at the airport when I arrive?

4. Are aircraft sterilized on a daily basis after each flight, and what are the measures taken within the aircraft to ensure public safety?

Passengers are kindly requested to refer back to their airline for more details on implemented safety procedures. 


5. How early do I need to be at the airport prior to my flight’s departure, and what is required of me upon arrival? 

Passengers must refer back to their respective airlines on the recommended arrival time.
Passengers must remain at least two meters apart and remember to always wear masks and gloves while on QAIA premises. 

6. What are the public safety measures being implemented at the boarding gates?

Hand disinfection is mandatory at the terminal entrance. Passengers are required to maintain hygiene standards by washing their hands regularly and disinfecting using the sanitizer stands installed across the terminal.

7. Are smoking and prayer rooms still open?
For sanitary and precautionary purposes, smoking and prayer rooms are currently not available for use as per Ministry of Health directives.

8. What are the precautionary measures being implemented at QAIA to protect against COVID-19?
Audio-visual channels are continuously broadcasting instructions on how to safeguard oneself. 
Audio announcements and reminders are made every 15 minutes. 
Physical distancing stickers, floor markings and informative posters and banners are displayed clearly.
Middle seats were blocked to ensure physical distancing.
Thermal scanners were placed at the airport entrances to measure the temperature of passengers.
All airport facilities and high-contact surfaces are periodically disinfected after each flight.
Plexiglass barriers were installed at check-in, transit, baggage service and visa counters.
Medical lab was fully prepared to conduct PCR tests on arriving passengers.
Hand sanitizing stations comprising touch-free and manual dispensers are available across the terminal.
Elevator capacity throughout the terminal building was reduced to two individuals at a time. 
Dedicated waste bins are provided at different locations within the terminal for safe glove and mask disposal.

9. Will I be quarantined for 14 days?

10. What are the safety standards for airport employees?
Employees must comply with physical distancing measures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (face masks, gloves and - if needed - face shields). 
Employees must adhere to all hygiene standards and disinfect hands regularly. 
Employees periodically undergo awareness programs. 

11. Am I still allowed to drop off or pick up a passenger?
At the moment, visitors are allowed to drop off all passengers, yet they may only pick up domestic-flight passengers. They are not permitted to enter the airport waiting halls, but can wait outside in their cars in the car park.

12. Where can I find the hand sanitizing stations at the airport?
Hand sanitizing stations are distributed at various locations throughout the terminal. 

13. Are there any constraints regarding transporting cargo?

14. What are the measures for isolating passengers with suspected symptoms?

15. If I test positive for COVID-19, how can I collect my baggage?

16. I have a medical certificate confirming that I am not infected with COVID-19. Can I return to my country of residence?
Please refer back to the airline, as well as the embassy of the country to which you wish to travel. 

17. How can I receive updates on the current status of flights and cancellations?

18. Has the baggage allowance changed, and am I permitted to bring a carry-on into the cabin?
Passengers are advised to check the baggage acceptance policy of their respective airlines in advance.

19. Are baggage trollies disinfected?
Yes, baggage trollies are regularly disinfected.

20. Is the valet service currently available? 
The valet service has been suspended until further notice. However, the car parks are open for use. 

21. How many passengers are allowed in each airport taxi? 
As per Ministry of Transport directives, capacity is capped at 75%. 

22. How many passengers are allowed on each airport bus? 
As per Ministry of Transport directives, capacity is capped at 75%. 

23. Is the Tikram service currently available? 
The meet and greet service, Tikram, is now available round the clock. 

24. Are the Royal Jordanian CIP Lounge and Petra Lounge and Transit Hotel open for use?

25. Can we shop as usual at the Duty-Free? 
The main Duty-Free at the Departures Area has reopened with many great offers.
